Finborough School Joins the Forfar Family
Finborough School, located near Stowmarket, has recently joined the Forfar Education family of schools. This acquisition marks a new chapter for the independent co-educational day and boarding school, which caters for approximately 700 pupils aged 2-18 years.
Forfar Education acquired Finborough School, in autumn 2024, from the Sinclair family who have been running the school since 2008. The school will continue under the leadership of Headteacher Steven Clark. Mr Clark expressed his enthusiasm for the development, stating, "This is a wonderful development for the entire Finborough Family and we look forward to working with Forfar to enhance what Finborough does best."
The acquisition is expected to bring new opportunities for growth and development to Finborough School, including plans to expand the school's facilities for existing and new families. One key area of focus will be expanding international recruitment. With the support of Forfar Education's global network, Finborough School aims to attract more students from around the world. We believe this will not only enrich the school’s cultural diversity but will also provide students with broader perspectives and experiences.
Additionally, Forfar Education plans to enhance opportunities for students in the Creative Arts, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), and Sport. Within its 40 acre site, Finborough already has outstanding facilities. Forfar Education will invest in the development of additional facilities to support the school in its curriculum development, and will give staff and students the resources they need for excellent outcomes.
